EdBlog Watch: Dangerously Irrelevant

BlogwatchAre today's schools becoming Dangerously Irrelevant? It's this tongue-in-cheek question that school technology guru Scott McLeod implies in the title of his blog, acknowledging that technological innovation often happens at "a rate faster than our institutions and emotions can cope with."

For example, what policies are schools putting in place to manage the exploding use of social networking tools? McLeod realized this was a good question but had no answer, so he put it to his blog's readership. Several readers posted suggested tools and experiences, with one sharing that she is "currently investigating how social networks might support induction of new and novice teachers."

Other blog topics include math wikis, school data tutorials, and the role of school leaders in promoting useful technology. Educators looking to up their savvy quotient can find Dangerously Irrelevant at www.dangerouslyirrelevant.org.
