65th Reflections

Ascd65thlogo_4In 1943, a fledgling organization formed to focus professional attention on curriculum planning, instructional methods, and leadership among educators.

The first issue of Educational Leadership, now 65 years old, looked at "Teaching in Wartime" and featured a column by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt ("It's Patriotic to Teach").

We've come a long way from our early days--growing the Association to over 175,000 educators from 119 countries. If you've been there with us for any part of the journey, we'd love to hear your ASCD memories. Maybe a particular ASCD conference, book, or issue of EL impacted your work in education. Post your story here, and we'll feature selected anecdotes throughout the year in the Education Update newsletter.
