ascd.org Gets a Makeover!
ASCD launched the first phase of its new and improved Web site today. We've worked hard over the past several months to create a site that allows users to more easily find information and interact with our online content. ASCD’s ultimate goal is to develop a comprehensive and easy-to-use Web site that functions as an online social network of educators and helps advance our initiatives.
We invite you to explore the site, which features:
- A wider screen display, additional visual elements, and less promotional text to make browsing easier.
- New videos that provide brief overviews of ASCD programs, products, and services.
- The Whole Child Podcast, which informs listeners about education policies and practices that ensure all children are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.
- An improved search function that returns results with better accuracy and a simplified display.
- More interactive features. Over the next several weeks, users will be able to participate in online polls, comment on ASCD articles, and rate products in the online store.
For more information about the redesign, read our press release.
How do you like ASCD’s redesigned Web site? What features do you particularly value? Are there other features or improvements you would like to see implemented during later phases of the redesign?

I've been on the site quite a bit the last three days. It seems to be stabilizing. I think this more contemporary content management approach is going to be great overall. Of course right now I'm grieving over all those ASCD url links that are going to need changing at my sites, as I'm sure many others are. After all, the whole ed world points to you. On the upside, your URLs will be shorter! Congrats -- I know this is a huge, huge undertaking.
