The Answer Sheet

Parents have all kinds of questions and concerns when it comes to their children's education. Are they learning what they need to? Do they have the right tools? Will they be prepared for all the standardized tests in front of them? Educators hoping to calm the nerves of worried parents would do well to check out Valerie Strauss's blog, The Answer Sheet, hosted by the Washington Post.

Strauss creates an up-to-the-minute survival guide for parents, addressing everything from homework to the SAT. She has many insights of her own and often hosts guest bloggers who are experts in specific areas. Recent posts include a critical exploration of baby educational videos and a fascinating post on measuring teacher effectiveness by cognitive scientist Daniel Willingham.
